There are groupings of assassins and ranks within. The highest rank seems to be Master, and there may be one per city (nc 2,54), although there might just be one in the entire caste of Gor (nc13). There is at least a group as big as 22 assassins, with the rank of Captain and Lieutenant (nc64,69 ).

Candidates for the caste are chosen with great care, and only one in ten, it is said, completes the course of instruction to the satisfaction of the caste masters. "You have no authorization for that," said the pit master.
