False BC Teachings

There are many onlinisims knocking about SL Gor with regard Black Caste role-play, for example, much of the Black Caste training regime is not exactly "By The Book" for the simple reason that specific details about BC training are not mentioned. Onlinisms are created to fill the void. We should, wherever possible, use what is found in the books, only when there is no other avenue to follow should we invent. I would further advise that any invention should be carefully thought through in keeping with the spirit of Gor and known Black Caste behaviour.

 

The following teachings are not found in any of John Normans books and although some of these are perhaps, little more than good ideas for RP, they should not be believed to be book accurate. I will add more as I remember them or stumble across them in RP.

They proudly display their coins as a sign of how good they are most would fear a killer. You'd fear a killer even more if his belt was full of coins.

 

There is nothing in the books to support this view. The only passage to come close to this is found in Assassin Of Gor:

The Black Caste greeting "Blood" and the meaning behind it is not found in any John Norman Gor book. It is said that two Killers prick their hands with their daggers, then shake hands. The blood mixes making them blood brothers.

The confusion may have come from a passage in Marauders Of Gor, which can be found at the top of page 301:
Sure he was not a "Blood" of a "People."
This statement was actually a reference about the Kurii and not Black Caste Assassins.
